Interview With Chainsmokers Member Alex Pall

In an interview that was carried out by Interview magazine.com, Alex Pall, who is one-half of the alternative pop duo known as The Chainsmokers, spoke about how he got his start in the music business, among other things. He revealed that he became a DJ at an early age first as a hobby, but after showcasing his record spinning skills around the New York area where he lived, he ended up getting a successful career going for himself.

He stated that he later met a college student named Andrew Taggart, who became the other half of The Chainsmokers, after his first partner left the band. Andrew was introduced to Alex Pall by a club manager after he took an interest in the art of DJing and the EDM music genre, and he was later responsible for helping pen their breakout hit Closer, which he co-wrote on a tour bus with another friend. The duo both produced and performed the song, along with featured singer Halsey, who Alex Pall said he enjoyed working with, due to the fact that he thinks she’s cool and unique and has a strong voice, and is unapologetic about her personal style.

The duo has also done background vocals on other music artists’ songs, and Alex Pall says that when he writes songs, he does it according to what he cares about, whether it be his political views or his other passions. When he was asked about what purchases he and Andrew made after their sudden success, he replied that they weren’t the type of guys that like to go out and buy expensive cars. However, he said that he did buy a house in the Hollywood Hills with his earnings, and he let New York interior designer Peti Lau decorate it for him. This unique designer is known for having a distinct style called Aristo Freak, and the singer said that this style is very close to his own.

Alex Pall also told the magazine that The Chainsmokers have been working on a lot more great music that they intend to put out in the near future.

Alex Pall: Founder of Billboard Legend “The Chainsmokers”

Alex Pall is one of the founding members of hit band The Chainsmokers. Together with the other half of the duo, Andrew Taggart, these two artists are bringing a unique twist to Billboard chart-topping music. After creating several successful collaborations with both well known and unknown artists, the Chainsmokers are in great demand.

In a recent interview, Alex Pall is further asked about what makes The Chainsmokers stand out. Pall delves into an explanation that he and Taggart actually craft their songs and then also sing on them. Admittedly, it does not seem as though artists singing on their own track would be original, but in all actuality it is less common than one might think. More typically, duos such as The Chainsmokers would pour their creativity into sculpting an electronic soundscape and then pass off the work to vocal professionals and songwriters to bring the full artistic work to light. Instead, Taggart and Pall are working to carefully craft a full circle production that really shows who they are as artists.

Alex Pall started out as a DJ at quite a young age and he realized that it was more than just a hobby, it had transitioned into a passion. It was while working at an art gallery in New York City that his manager introduce him to Andrew Taggart who was living in Maine at the time. The two men immediately clicked into working together and both quit their jobs while Taggart moved to New York in order to both fully dedicate themselves to the pursuit of the music.

The Chainsmokers have been quite successful at creating chart-topping singles and an album with incredible staying power on the Billboard’s Top Dance and Electronic Music chart. Alex Pall describes the success of the duo and their collaborations as a journey of self-discovery that he is fortunate enough to be going through with an artistic partner who shares his core values. Additionally, Pall is proud to provide examples of a 6 year old fan, in sharp contrast to hearing his own mother humming his songs, providing irrefutable proof that the music of The Chainsmokers transcends age.
