Greg Secker is a Forex trader, entrepreneur, speaker, and philanthropist from London, England. He is also the principal of Learn To Trade and the author of books themed on financial trading. His critically acclaimed books include Trading Your Way to Success and Financial Freedom Through Forex. As an entrepreneur, he founded companies, such as SmartCharts Software, Learn To Trade, and FX Capital.
As he was commencing his professional career, Secker noticed that most people lacked knowledge about trading. He wanted to come up with a venture that would avail this knowledge and enable people to trade in foreign transactions. Through Learn to Trade, he focused his teachings on how individuals can make money on forex trades.
Greg Secker cites his friends, business partners, and family as his main source of inspiration. He is thankful for the support he usually receives from these individuals. This support enables him to conceptualize new and brilliant ideas and succeed in any venture he undertakes.
Education and Career
Secker spent most of his early life in Norfolk, England. He also graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Agricultural and Food Sciences from the University of Nottingham in 1997. Thomas Cook Financial Services hired him in the mid-1990s as a trading technologist. His work involved developing foreign exchange trading systems for the company. One of his notable creations is the Virtual Trading Desk, a web-based forex trading platform. Secker bagged the British Telecom Award for innovation in e-commerce for this creation.
At only 25 years old, Secker became the first young VP for Mellon Financial Corporation. He left the firm in 2003 and established a trading venture dubbed Knowledge to Action Group in his house to mentor people on financial trading strategies. The venture allowed him to pursue a full-time career as a forex trader. Secker was also featured as a speaker at the 2011 National Achievers Congress.
Secker came up with The Greg Secker Foundation to advance his philanthropic endeavors. The organization focuses on improving life and leadership skills by establishing youth programs in communities. Besides creating the organization, Secker also serves as a member of Ambassadors for City Philanthropy’s executive board.
