There may also be a genetic factor involved, those who have a history of depression in their family are more likely to have it.
The symptoms of depression are not always immediately discernable. Many signs include a general listlessness or sadness that last for longer than two weeks. However, it can also take a physical toll on the body. People experiencing depression often sleep too much or too little. They may also have severe weight gain or loss. People often consider suicide when they feel like death is the only way out. It is also a leading cause of disability in the country which affects the daily lives of those who have depression.
